Capacity-building of local health workers:
We train local healthcare workers in delivering basic oral hygiene education. This will be done in collaboration with a clinic or clinical officer who will help embed oral health practices into everyday patient care.
Referral and Follow Up Network
We connect the community with local dentists and university dental students to establish a referral pathway for dental cases requiring ongoing treatment beyond the outreach period.
Support for infrastructure and continuity
We ensure the dental chair and equipment at the local centers are operational during our visit, with basic troubleshooting and maintenance support. This enables visiting mobile dental teams and local practitioners to continue using the setup after we leave.
Data collection and outcome tracking
Oral health screening data are collected and reviewed, with simple record sheets provided to local health worker for ongoing use. This allows for follow-up monitoring and impact evaluation.
Empowering community educators
We train local health workers to deliver oral health instruction independently. We identify and mentor community-based champions who can continue the work year-round.
